Materials for modeling & mold making

Dimensional accuracy, surface quality and high wear resistance are the core requirements in model and mold making. Very good processing and machining properties with consistently high material quality are also the basic prerequisites for the economical production of models, molds, fixtures and gauges.

Auxiliaries for tooling & mold making

The Auxiliaries product range includes materials for the supportive treatment and processing of the tooling and moldmaking range. Fillers are for the individual, application-related adaptation of existing, already filled or even unfilled casting resin systems, color pastes for color adaptation and release agents for the safe demoldability of castings made of polyurethane or epoxy resin casting resins. The product group is rounded off by wax foils and wax plates for component and wall thickness simulation or for layer-wise model construction in already existing mold halves.

Casting resins

Casting resins based on epoxy resins, polyurethane resins and polyurea resins are used in model making in a wide variety of applications. Typical applications are the dimensionally accurate casting of patterns and molds with slowly curing and particularly dimensionally stable epoxy resins in front layer or full casting, the production of highly abrasion-resistant pattern equipment with polyurea resins in front layer casting for applications in foundries as well as the fast control or auxiliary casting with very fast curing polyurethane resins.

Casting silcones / Silicone casting compounds

Mold silicones are used in mold construction in the areas of rapid prototyping, art, architecture, restoration, theater and stage construction and enable the production of flexible yet very dimensionally stable molds for geometries that are difficult to mold. Thus it is possible to mold products with very high surface roughness or mold products with undercut and to produce castings, usually polyurethane resin-based, in the generated moulds without any problems. Form silicones are also often used in architecture and restoration in connection with mineral molding materials and are also impressive there due to their simple processing, high flexibility and compatibility with the commonly used materials and substrates.

Gelcoats & coupling layers

Gelcoats based on epoxy resin are used as the first surface-forming layer in model and mold making and their properties determine the subsequent product properties. The surface layer is usually followed by an epoxy resin-based, glass-fibre reinforced coupling layer in the second work step, which represents the connection to all possible subsequent work steps.

Laminating resins

Laminating resin systems or laminating pastes usually follow the coupling layer during mould construction and represent the actual mould structure with their properties and the usually introduced reinforcing fibres. Our laminating resins are suitable for all common application processes in mould making as well as in component production. In addition, backfilling masks can be created with suitable fillers in order to produce light and particularly dimensionally stable rear structures.

Polyurethane vacuum casting resins

Polyurethane vacuum casting resins are usually used for component production in prototype construction. The processing usually takes place in vacuum casting in silicone molds and enables very fast prototype production in medium quantities. The vacuum casting resins are characterized by their properties in the reproduction of the materials used in series production such as ABS, PA or PP / PE. Thus it is possible to generate prototypes which almost completely correspond to a later serial part in optics, haptics and mechanics.

Release agents

Release agents are used for the pretreatment of pressing and laminating tools to ensure easy demoulding, good surface quality and low tool contamination.


Ureol Tooling Boards covers the entire range of model, tool and mold making with epoxy and polyurethane tooling boards. From low density styling and design boards to standard model boards with a density of 0.6-0.7 and high temperature resistant epoxy resin boards to high density, high strength and abrasion resistant working boards. In addition to their outstanding mechanical properties, the Ureol products are particularly convincing because of their consistently high, consistent quality and very good price/performance ratio.
