Structural bonding in the construction of commercial transportation

Structural adhesives are increasingly being used in carcass construction. Due to the full-surface connection of the components, sheet thicknesses can be reduced and weight saved. The adhesives cure at room temperature (two-component) or in a KTL furnace (one component).

L&L Acoustic Sealants

L&L Acoustic Sealants are used as self-adhesive inflation tapes in automotive engineering to prevent the transmission of sound into the vehicle interior. Heat-activated, these foam up, show different expansion, density and cell structures and completely seal off cavities.

L&L Core Splice Adhesives

Expanding adhesive mats used in composite sandwich structures. For bonding honeycomb joints and edge formation on GRP/CFRP pressed parts. Mats can be cut to size and expand thermally in ovens, presses or autoclaves. Low density.

L&L Heat activated sealants

L&L Heat activated sealants are applied as self-adhesive inflatable tapes into body cavities (A/B/C columns, roof frames etc.), expand these by heat activation, e.g. in the KTL process, and seal these completely against the penetration of moisture, air and dust.

L&L Room Temperature curing MMA Adhesives

Structural 2-component, methacrylate-based adhesives. Broad adhesion spectrum on different substrates. High strengths, fast curing times and elongation at break up to 70%.

L&L Room temperature curing sealant/adhesives

Elastic 1K sealants based on MS polymer and elastic 2K adhesives with various mechanical properties. Direct adhesion to a variety of materials without pre-treatment.

L&L structural adhesive films

Self-adhesive EP adhesive strips, activated by heat, typically used in body-in-white construction. Different expansion rates enable bridging of gaps, compensation of thermal expansion and galvanic separation of substrates. Reinforcement of flat components.
