The Bodo Möller Chemie Group has opened a new personal care laboratory in Dubai Science Park, the Middle East’s leading science-focused hub and part of TECOM Group PJSC, further expanding its portfolio in its new personal care segment. With this investment, the company is consolidating its strategic position in the personal care market while also signaling an extended collaboration with BASF in the Middle East and Africa. As part of the inaugural event, industry partners and guests were given guided tours of the laboratory, providing insights into the new technical infrastructure.

Spread over 100 square meters, Bodo Möller Chemie’s new personal care laboratory is equipped with advanced technology for physical-chemical testing, which is essential for hair, body, and skincare product development and quality assurance. Analyses include stability tests as well as measurements of pH values, viscosity, concentrations, and moisture content. In this way, innovative formulations can be developed and tested for a wide range of applications, from creams, shampoos, and conditioners through to serums, baby products, and sunscreen lotions.

With this investment in an ultramodern laboratory, the Bodo Möller Chemie Group is creating its own technical infrastructure for the personal care segment. Manufacturers in the region now have access to a competence center, where formulations can be tested and selectively adapted to specific application requirements. At the same time, the company is also intensifying its partnership with BASF in this segment, expanding to the African market to provide high-grade raw materials together with technical guidance and support for formulation. This growth is complemented by new locations in Lebanon and Jordan, thus further boosting business development in both regions.

The laboratory inauguration gave industry partners and guests the opportunity to gain extensive insight into the new technical facilities and services. “The new laboratory is a strategic milestone for us, which we’re using to position and establish ourselves as a solutions provider in the region’s personal care market,” affirms Frank Haug, Bodo Möller Chemie Group CEO. “We supply a first-class raw materials portfolio together with technical expertise, now with laboratory infrastructure for developing innovative formulations.”

“The opening of Bodo Möller Chemie’s personal care laboratory reflects Dubai Science Park’s commitment to fostering innovation and technical excellence,” says Marwan Abdulaziz Janahi, Senior Vice President, Dubai Science Park, Dubai Knowledge Park, and Dubai International Academic City, part of TECOM Group. “By providing manufacturers with advanced infrastructure and expertise, we are enabling the development of high-quality, locally relevant personal care solutions. This investment not only strengthens Dubai’s position as a hub for scientific innovation but also exemplifies the collaboration between industry and knowledge-driven communities across the region and beyond.”

Abdallah Dabaghi, Executive Vice President MEA, Bodo Möller Chemie Middle East, states: “The laboratory constitutes a core element in our business development and value proposition: We reduce complexity and deliver solutions which meet requirements for modern personal care products. Clients thus benefit from integral solutions.”

“The new personal care segment is contributing significantly to the growth of our location in Dubai. We’re pleased to be in the position to offer a further added value to our clients in the form of formulation support,” adds Basem Siaj, Managing Director Middle East.
