Bodo Möller Chemie and CABB form partnership Dianhydrides for high-performance epoxy and polyimide formulas
Bodo Möller Chemie is expanding its portfolio in the CASE sector (coatings, adhesives, sealants and elastomers) through its collaboration with CABB, the dianhydride specialist. Innovative, premium materials used to manufacture epoxy and polyimide formulas have been included in the Offenbach-based company’s portfolio since June 2023. As a result, the specialty chemicals expert’s clients benefit from leading technological products and extensive consultation.
Bodo Möller Chemie and CABB are entering into a partnership to expand European business with specialty dianhydrides. The CABB Group is a world-leading company which develops and manufactures high-performance dianhydrides, active ingredients, and superior intermediate goods. CABB specializes in manufacturing highly complex, client-specific molecules for leading companies, especially in the fields of crop science, life science and performance materials.
Dianhydrides such as BTDA (3,3′,4,4′-Benzophenone tetracarboxylic dianhydride) are used as hardeners (curing agents) for epoxy resins or as comonomers for polyimides to produce polymers with exceptional thermo-mechanical and electrical insulation properties. “CABB is the only manufacturer worldwide which produces this molecule on an industrial scale. Bodo Möller Chemie is thus also the only sales channel for the molecule in Europe,” states Volker Oehl, Director for Business Development at Bodo Möller Chemie. CABB’s special dianhydrides are used in products such as adhesives, coatings, including powder coatings, composites, casting materials, and dielectric films for electronic applications.
Bodo Möller Chemie offers its customers a leap in technology thanks to CABB products, which attain optimum quality levels for the strictest requirements. “As a result of the partnership with Bodo Möller Chemie, our clients in Europe will benefit from extensive know-how and insightful technical consultations,” affirms Dr. Christian Schulz, Head of Sales for Specialty and Performance Chemicals at CABB.
