ECS 2013: Bodo Möller Chemie supports growth industries Specialty chemicals expert sees growing demand from high-tech industries as the main reason for worldwide record sales
With an expected annual turnover of more than EUR 82 billion in 2017 the global market for paints and coatings will reach a record high. Bodo Möller Chemie (www.bm-chemie.com) sees the main reason for this development in the need to meet the growing demand for specialized solutions in growth industries such as aerospace, automotive and electronics industries. “Modern paints and coatings enable new designs and special surface properties. In this way it will be possible to increase aerodynamics, fuel efficiency and stability of cars, boats and airplanes significantly,” explains Managing Director Jürgen Rietschle.
Paints and coatings are already making a significant contribution to sustainability and the careful use of natural resources – both through improved features and functions, as well as through a more efficient and environmentally friendly production. In the next years particularly coatings based on nanotechnology in many high-tech industries provide new impulses, Rietschle is convinced: “We are just at the beginning of an extremely promising development – self-repairing coatings on smartphones which can make disappear scratches without a trace, or solar paint on cars which reduce fuel consumption, are not longer only just future thinking.”
With a growth rate of 30 percent and a total turnover of EUR 54 million in 2012, the globally active specialty chemicals company surpasses the industry-wide growth forecasts. As the linking point between leading manufacturers such as Dow, BASF, Henkel, Huntsman, and numerous manufacturing industries, the Bodo Möller Chemie Group has an international clear position.
