Material selection for electrical casting

In the electrical industry, the encapsulation of electrical and electronic components and assemblies is increasingly being used. Depending on the product, the production technology and the respective application conditions, different electrical insulation materials with specific properties are used. Especially the technical requirements for electrical encapsulation materials are therefore manifold. In addition to the mechanical, electrical and optical properties, flammability, thermal conductivity, heat resistance and thermal expansion must also be taken into account. The selection of a suitable electro-casting compound therefore poses a number of challenges: there is no such thing as a universal casting compound – specific requirements call for specific products.
